Mahodaya, formerly Amanikan, is a 32 metre coastal cruiser that was Aman Resorts’ first foray into yachting in Indonesia. Commissioned in 2009 by Aman’s founder Adrian Zecha, with interiors by the late designer Jaya Ibrahim, she fuses traditional Indonesian boatbuilding with the quiet comfort and service standards of a small luxury hotel. Three cabins positioned above deck accommodate up to six guests, supported by a crew of around ten including a cruise director, private chef, dive guide and stewards. Each cabin has its own terrace for private outdoor space, vaulted ceilings, air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms, keeping the atmosphere bright and residential rather than enclosed. On deck, an outdoor dining and bar area on the foredeck and a covered lounge at the bow create natural spaces for meals and sleeping under the stars. Mahodaya sails between Komodo, the Spice Islands and Raja Ampat, delivering guests to reef walls, manta sites and small islands in a style that feels intimate and quietly refined, very much in keeping with Aman’s original vision for the yacht.
